Day tours in Spain: what a full day out actually costs from each city

The Puente Nuevo at Ronda, the finale of the cheapest full day we curate anywhere in Spain.

The short answer

A full guided day out from a Spanish city costs from about USD 51 to about USD 115 per person across the ten day trips we curate in eight destinations. The cheapest are the big coach days from Seville and Madrid. The dearest are the small-group days from Barcelona and San Sebastian, and Mallorca's train, tram and boat day, which bundles three sets of tickets.

The price tracks group size and what is included far more than it tracks distance. A twelve-hour coach day can cost less than a five-hour minibus one, and that is not a sign that either is poor value. It is a sign that you are paying for different things.

Ten day trips, on one footing

The merchants quote some of these in euros and some in dollars, depending on the session we captured the price in. Converted at the 2026 average of about 1.16 dollars to the euro, and rounded, the starting prices are:

These are entry prices from our 2026 reviews, not quotes. They move with the season and the options you pick, and three of them (Madrid, Valencia and the Montserrat trip) are figures we have not yet re-verified against the live product page. The excursion pages mark which.

Price per hour, not price per day

Divide each price by its length and the list reorders itself. The big coach days from Seville and Madrid come out at roughly five to six dollars an hour. Malaga's two days and Valencia's springs sit between about seven and nine. The small-group days, and the Montserrat half day, land between about ten and thirteen, and Mallorca's train and boat day is the highest at about fourteen.

Two things push a day up that scale. The first is group size: a minibus of eight to sixteen costs more per seat than a coach of fifty, every time. The second is what is bundled in. Mallorca's price carries a historic train, a tram and a boat; the Basque day carries lunch; the Madrid day carries entries to the Segovia Alcazar and Toledo Cathedral, which is part of why it is such good value. Our study of what Spain excursions cost runs the same arithmetic across the whole catalogue.

The cheapest days: Seville and Madrid

The white villages day from Seville is the best value full day we curate. Ten hours takes in Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema, an olive oil mill and Ronda's gorge, rated 4.5 across more than four thousand travellers. The catch is the one every coach day shares: an hour or so in each place. If Ronda is your real goal, take the train and give it the whole day.

Madrid's Segovia and Toledo day is the other bargain, twelve hours with both cities' main sights and their entries handled. Its most common complaint is pace, which is the honest cost of two cities in one day. Our Toledo and Segovia guide weighs the combined tour against doing each city separately by train.

The workhorse two-city day: Segovia's aqueduct and castle plus Toledo's hilltop old town in twelve hours, with Alcázar and Cathedral entry included. Efficient and well run, but the pace is real.

The middle: Malaga and Valencia

Malaga is the one city where we curate two full days, and they price close together. The Caminito del Rey day, about USD 69, solves the walkway's awkward one-way logistics and sells out its timed entries in summer. The Nerja caves and Frigiliana day, about USD 79, is the gentler choice for anyone who cannot face the gorge. Our Costa del Sol guide sets the two side by side.

Valencia's Montanejos springs day is the surprise: a small group for about USD 57, because the product is simple. A minibus, a warm river canyon, and a waterfall. It is the cheapest small-group day on this list, and the rating is strong, but its price and review figures came from affiliate mirrors rather than the live page and we say so on the excursion page.

The premium days, and what they buy

Capileira, the highest of the three Poqueira gorge villages on Granada's Alpujarra day, and the one where the small-group format earns its price.

Granada's Alpujarra day, about USD 97, is the clearest case of a price that buys pacing. It is a small group on mountain roads, with time to walk between Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira and to eat properly in one of them. Its review base is modest, at 335, which we flag, and the winding roads are a real problem for anyone prone to motion sickness.

The Basque day from San Sebastian, about USD 110, is priced high because it has to be: the Guggenheim and the Gaztelugatxe causeway are an awkward drive apart and close to impossible by public transport, and lunch is included. The Girona and Costa Brava day from Barcelona, about USD 115, caps the group at eight, which is what lets it reach villages a coach cannot. Both are long days, and both are the days we would pick if the budget allowed.

Mallorca's island day is the exception in this tier. It is a large group, and its price is mostly the train, tram and boat tickets it bundles. At 4.4 it sits below our usual bar, and the reviews blame tight connections rather than the scenery. Book it early in your stay, in case rough seas cancel the boat leg.

How to choose

Judge by the hour, then by the group. A cheap long day is good value only if you are happy on a coach. If you are not, the small-group premium is the price of liking your day.

Check what is included. Entry tickets and lunch can be worth twenty to forty dollars on their own, so two tours at the same price are not always the same price.

Ask whether you need a tour at all. Toledo, Ronda and Montserrat are all easy by train. The tours earn their price where transport is genuinely hard: the Caminito, the Alpujarra, the Basque coast and the Costa Brava villages. Every day trip we curate is on the day trips page, and each destination hub, from Seville to Mallorca, carries the rest of our picks for that city.
